Ad-aware by Lavasoft and Spybot-Search & Destroy are both free of charge. Run them both once a week. Don't forget to download upgrades first before scanning your PC.

yeah it is true that there are a number of anti virus software are available in the market, But the selection of right anti virus is very typical & i think it depend on the different type of malicious threads.
