I've heard from friends with Macs that they do not use anti-virus programs for their computers.
So when I purchased a Mac book, I didn't give it much of a thought.
Fast forward 6 months later. I decide to install an anti-virus program on it.
And guess what? It found 3 viruses and several errors.
So don't believe everything you here. If you are on the Internet, someone is trying to get into your computer.

George, what anti-virus app did you install on your Mac, and specifically, what 3 viruses did it turn up?
Macs aren't immune to viruses, but they are very rare. This is primarily because Macs use the UNIX framework which is a very secure environment compared to the framework developed by Microsoft. It is recommended to have an anti-virus program installed on every machine no matter what Operating System is being used.
